Jim Cope: Home
As a kid, I loved watching TV shows and movies about the American West. I got a particular thrill dressing up as a cowboy, driving with my parents to Knotts Berry Farm" and walking on the old fashioned wooden sidewalks. There, the sound of swinging saloon doors, the smell of old rawhide saddles, and the taste of sarsparilla just made my day.
There's no denying that the world has change a lot; In these crowded, complicated times, I'm more post-modern idealist, than cowboy. The Old West Cowboy image is rarely seen anymore, but he continues to resonate in me. So a lot of the songs I play in some way still reflect some of those memories and images.
I hope you'll spend some time here. Enjoy the place; mi casa es su casa - Thanks for visiting.
