Jim Cope's debut CD, "Never Better Than Later", is finally available (check out the link to CDBaby on the products page). The songs and tunes on it are archival in nature and represent just a few of the tunes and songs he's collected (or written) over nearly 40 years. It's an eclectic grouping, Dealing mostly with characters and stories out of the mythology of the American West. That mythos has always had a significant impact on his work. But there are also songs that honor the people and places of Appalachia, a tribute to the time he lived in Southeastern Kentucky, in the late 1960's.
More recently, Jim has been exploring celtic roots music - jigs, reels, and its interplay between cowboy and Appalachian music. It should be no surprise to hear how compatible these three styles are with each other. The musical interplay between them is good fun. A few of the tunes from the CD here; Hang out and enjoy them... on the house! Oh and be sure and sign the guest book too.
